All in the Family
One of our favorite things about operating our headquarters out of Greenville is that our roots originally stem from Eastern North Carolina. This area has given us the inspiration, love, and care that we've needed to grow our business to serve more of our surrounding communities. We couldn't be happier about where this journey has taken us, or more appreciative of the community that gives back to us each day.
Originally founded in 2007 as Signature Jordan, Jordan Vainright Proctor made her dream of owning an art and design-based company, a reality. Welcomed with open arms from the community, Signature Jordan quickly expanded into Coastal Fog— interior design with a retail storefront.
Recognizing the demand, Coastal Fog split ownership between sisters, Jordan Vainright Proctor & Jennifer Vainright Lutz, mother, Marty Vainright and long time family friend, Julie Dietrich.
Meet The Crew
Jordan Vainright Proctor
CEO (Chief Everything Officer)
Jordan Vainright Proctor, certified NCIDQ Interior Designer (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) and member of the ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), is a co-owner and the lead designer behind Signature Jordan Interior Design, LLC. The business was founded in early 2007, when Jordan made her dream of owning an art and design-based company, a reality. The business has since expanded to include retail venue and storefront location, Coastal Fog, which illustrates the design directions of Signature Jordan, LLC.
With a Bachelor of Science degree from the well-recognized Interior Design program at East Carolina University, Jordan is able to use her knowledge in building and architectural design in each project. This allows her to work directly with architects and contractors and be completely involved with each proposal from start to finish. To ensure the business reflects current trends, Jordan and her design team take frequent trips to antique shops, warehouses and home design markets around the country.
When she's not spending her time designing, or working with a client, Jordan can be found experimenting in the kitchen, painting the picturesque landscapes of Eastern North Carolina, or spending time with her husband and children.
Jennifer Vainright Lutz
Abstract Concepts Coordinator
Jennifer Vainright Lutz is one of the three co-owners for Coastal Fog. Since joining the business Jennifer has successfully incorporated refurbishing and refinishing cabinetry, furniture and interiors into the business. While she graduated with Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and History from East Carolina University, her passions have always been in the hands-on creative arts. Jennifer has been able to apply knowledge from her degrees and her creative passions to breathe new life into her "canvases".
Eager to take on full refinishing projects, Jennifer also takes joy in teaching others about her craft. She offers DIY workshops at her studio and is happy to contribute a comprehensive list of tutorials to the Coastal Fog blog. When she's not in the studio, or working with a client, Jennifer can be found rifling through antique shops, scouting nature for inspiration, or entertaining her nephews (and husband) with crafty projects.
Marty East Vainright
Director of Dream Fulfillment
Martha Vainright, also known as Marty, is the Co-Owner and Merchandise Administrator of Coastal Fog. Marty is an East Carolina University graduate with her BS in Leisure Services. With experiences that include director of Recreation Therapy Departments in several geriatric facilities and a teacher in different autistic programs, Marty is keenly aware of the importance of listening to the special needs and desires that each client has, thus enabling her to confidently assist design clients and shop customers. A natural born people person and an eye for the big picture, Marty contributes to the business in both vision and execution.
When she's not managing the shop, or working with clients, you can find her arranging fresh bouquets from her backyard flower garden or doing what she loves most— spending time with her family.
Director of First Impressions
Julie Dietrich, a long time friend of the family came on to work with Coastal Fog in 2014. In 2016, Julie became a co-owner of the growing business. With an eye for design and a way with people, she assists the team in more ways than one. From managing the look and feel of the retail business to interfacing with valued clients, she does everything with grace, energy and enthusiasm. A lover of all fine things, she has developed a particular affinity for our LEE Industries product and has become a valued client resource for our upholstered furniture line. Julie is passionate about the lifestyle that Coastal Fog seeks to provide and has readily embraced the creation of our newest project, The Market.
When she's not minding the details of Coastal Fog, you can find Julie traveling or gathering her friends and family around the dinner table for a home cooked meal and bubbly conversation.
