Dog Days of Summer
As we head into the last full week of July, we realize why the "dog days of summer" is a phrase coined in the South. I heard a true southern woman's description of this recently. In the book "Invitation Only", by low-country author Dorothea Benton Frank, she describes the dogs days of summer. "Dog days" is because the only place suitable to be on these hot, still, and sweltering afternoons is under the porch with the dogs buried down in the cool dirt. Maybe we could settle for cool sand.
We are always looking for ways to refresh and cool off at Coastal Fog and with the family. The barista counter serves up cold iced coffee from Counter Culture Coffee as well as specialty fizz drinks such as hibiscus flower extract, Matcha tea and other unusual pairings. Nothing tops a crisp cool glass of Rosé or Chardonnay. All available at Coastal Fog.
